We want to take a poll. Would you rather split quarters for our next tournament or pay a $30.00 green fee with the same entry fee and the same $2000.00 guaranteed for first place. In my opinion, coins are always a pain in the butt. Charge a green fee, and leave the boxes open.

While $30 for a green fee is higher than I've seen before, paying quarters just really sucks! Green fee all the way.

just a thought, but if you choose to use green fees, you could lower the price by making your races longer,that is if you have the time and
you 're not already using long races

I'm trying to figure out why my post of my opinion was removed... all I said was I think it's crazy to split quarters... and even crazier to pay a
30.00 green fee... look at the memphis in may tournament coming up.. it's got a TEN dollar green fee... and I would rather go to that .. even though it
pays less.. just because most of the owners are cutting up green fees or tournament money anyways.. so why should I give them so much.....
(Note: Joekeith, sorry but I just notice this post by you. I didn't remove the prion post you reference but, it seems like I remember you stating that opinion and personally I see nothing wrong with it. It may have been a glitch in the system, I just don't know. There does seem to be a bug in this thread. If you try to "vote" it gives you an error. Don't get me wrong, I do remove posts from time to time but, I alway note that I have and try to give the reason why. Professor)

It seems to me that owners do not make much of anything when they put on a tournament. They might take in a little if there is a greens fee or
--in the case of bar boxes-- some from the table rentals. However most do it either for: the publicity, what they can make from bar/food sales, or simply to
get people together-- good will, you might say. And if they've added any significant money it's not likely that they'll make anything at all.
There has been a lot of grumbling over the past few years about some tour TDs who take too big of a cut from the entry fees. In some cases that may be true. But the room owners themselves make very little on their tournaments. Doc |

Mitch, Where are yall at? I own Tanks and i do green fees, I think green fees are the way just because quarters are slower and a pain, When is your next

We are in Hampton, Ga. I own Sticks poolroom and we didn't make anything on this tournament is cost us $2865.00 to have this thing. We are trying to have
this tournament just to benefit the players and to get the action in pool going again. Our next tournament is May 29-31 2009. We hope to see everyone there
and also alot of our guys, myself included travel around to different tournaments so send us some flyers too.

Race to 9 on a bar table everyone welcome. $ 60.00 entry fee split quarters $2000.00 Guaranteed 1st Place NO MATTER HOW MANY SHOW. Many events for the whole weekend STARTING **Friday night mini tournaments race to 5 anyone can win **Saturday at 1:00 starting our biggest tournament yet **Sunday at 1:00 matches will resume and winner will be made Last month we had only 35 players and 1st place still paid over $4000.00.
