We'd like to have another tournament July 18th and 19th. Please let's work together to and not walk on each other. I've searched the net and it seems that this is an open date locally. If any of you know of an event that has been posted on these dates I'd appreciate you waving me off these dates, otherwise it's a go. bill, the only thing I know of is the midwest 9ball open in Olathe, Ks on the weekend of the 17th... I know that's not local, but I figured I would give
you a heads up.

I hope we can do this in the future and get a structure to all of Mississippi. Luc and Jason are planning to go to Jackson ms this weekend and also support
all the events in the region. look on the TOURNAMENT DISCUSSION for the flyer......july 18th and 19th two tournaments

Bill, I think the structure needs to include the tri-state area - Miss, Ala, Tenn. This seems to be where the bulk of the shooters show up from in these
tourneys.
JMO, Pel Oh yea, I checked Mapquest and it's about 7 1/2 hours up there. I'll hasta build my wings up and try it one day.

Truett, R.H, and the rest of the owners; Thanks for giving me this date and for that I hope my and your future events are more successful. For your help and
support I, in turn, will reward our BAR TABLE 1ST AND 2ND entry into your next events.
Maybe we can get other pool rooms in the area to create events that player would be talking about. Maybe 6 to 12 rooms with blocked months pre set and added monies that would keep players in the area talking about pool and not poker! The rooms could draw for months and then pick their date in that month......the other participating rooms would honor their dates by not having smaller events on that weekend, If you are an owner, operator, or a player that would like to see this happen, please respond by giving input and contact information for your ROOM OF CHOICE! My name is just thrown in there by Bill being polite. Actually the credit goes to Truett and Zach at the Greenroom in Jackson, MS, you see they had planned a
tournament for the same weekend and moved it to avoid confliction with the tournament at the Southaven Rec.
Bill we enjoyed the tournaments, and more so, the company. You putting my nephew on made my day, it has been a long time since I laughed that hard. To be fair it was something that was just especially funny to me, but I will give ya'll the jest of it. Just remember, I warned you. My nephew, Tad, who has been in the US Navy for 20 plus years had just been stationed in Memphis this year. We were on our way to Southaven and about an hour or so away when Tad called me on my cell phone. He and his wife were out riding around in Memphis and he wanted to know where the poolroom we were going to was located. I told him and he was only a few minuted away from it, so I asked him if he would go by and pay Sam and Melanie's entry fees to the tournament. I told him to ask for Bill Rowsey. Upon hanging up I thought, I ought to have Bill put him on a little bit. You see Bill and Tad both have a great sense of humor. So, I call Bill at the Rec and told him Tad, my nephew, a navy man, was coming it to pay Melanie and Sam's entry fees. I asked Bill to put him on a little, that is jerk Tad's chain a little. He said he would and I had no idea exactly what he would do but, knowing Bill I knew he would come up with something. Well a short while later Tad calls me back, with a chuckle in his voice, he ask, "Unk, have you got your gun with you, hell I may need one!" What happened was . . . When Tad went in, Bill asked him if he was in the military, to which Tad responded proudly, "Yes sir, in the navy." At which point Bill looked at him without cracking a smile and told him he would have to leave that he didn't allow military people in his poolroom. Tad thinking he MUST be joking, kind of laughed and asked why not. Bill, again with out a smile, told him he didn't like his hair cut!. Bill told him the policy of "No Military" had worked for over twenty years and he was keeping it that way, then just walked away. Tad said he was dumbfounded, and was just standing at the bar. He said that Bill looked over at him and as serious as a heart attack said, "Son you must think I'm joking, but I'm not! You have got to go." Tad told me that the older man working behind the bar was just staring at him like Tad must be a fool. Tad said he was thinking, "Oh hell, my uncle has done sent me into a place I'm going to have to fight my way out of. Bill came out from behind the bar and started walking toward Tad, he never stopped but, as he passed by he just said to Tad with a smile, "R H called me." Tad liked the place so well that he and his wife stayed until late Saturday night watching the bar table tournament, and then returned Sunday afternoon with his wife and one of his three lovely daughters to watch to big table tournament. And that is the story, remember I warned you. Again, I enjoyed the tournament and visiting with my friend Bill, and my nephew and his family. I was proud of the way Melanie and Sam played, but I wouldn't take anything for Bill jerking on Tad's chain, or as the Australians would say "sending him up".
