The good news for those that play perfect and lose due to the bad beat, we started a Bad Beat Jackpot in the game a couple of months ago, it is currently just at $980. The bad beat is A's full of Kings or better with the standard requirement that both hold cards in the losing and winning hands must play. Oh, you know last time you you said something to the effect that 'Melanie could hold you hand will you eased into the game.' The Junior Tournament is generally just local kids, and when Sam played in it, then followed the next few times by Lid'D, the number of entries dropped drastically. Well, last night we only had 3 to enter, and that only because Lid'D withdrew (because he knew). Well you figure this part out . . . There are three entries, let me repeat only 3 entries, at $25 each and we don't take a green fee from the Junior tournament. The payout is 60% and 40% to first and second, respectively. Well last night, first paid $65, second got $55, and third got $45 ! Yes sir the Pelican has landed! The three entried were a high school boy and two young college girls. The guy won it, but I think Pelican took the biggest prize. (As Pelican would write - "Now ya'll keep ths to ye self now, ye herr." We wouldn't want Mrs. Pelican to kick the ole bird out of the nest.) The winner, Josh Senter, thanked him and shook the Pelican's hand and the two college girls thanked him, gave him a hug, and kissed him on the cheek! Yep, from the look on his face and the flush in his cheeks, I could tell the ole Pelican enjoyed that more that they enjoyed winning the money, , , just for entering! THANK YOU PELICAN! PS: One other thing I could tell from the look on the ole bird's face as the girls gave him and hug and a kiss, was that he was thinking "Hummmm, what if I had added . . ."
