An older gentleman came in my store today and bought a cheap sneaky pete as a breaking cue. He said he had a Richard Black as a player and didn't want to
prematurely wear the tip by breaking with it. After he mentioned the R. Black I struck up a conversation about pool and stuff. He started dropping some
names, so I figured he was an actually player and not just some banger looking to talk it up with the whipper-snapper behind the counter.
He eventually says he played Cliff getting 11-5 and the breaks for 500 a game. He said he won 5 straight and Cliff pulled up. Then he says Scott Frost offered him 11-6 but he declined.
This guy was 60+ and 6ft+ medium build with grey hair. Dressed in slacks and a dress shirt. Like I mentioned before he said he played with a Richard Black. He said he traveled with Marshall Carpenter back in the day.
I didn't get his name. Anyone know him?
