Just to be clear, it's not 10K added, it's a guarnteed prize fund of 10K. Ricky adds 15% across the board with a full field. Yes, it fills up most
years.

Lots of talent in Mobile | #5 | ||
|
I will of course be leaving someone as my memory isn't the best, but there are a lot of talented players in the house in Mobile (please excuse the spelling
as I don't have time to check names, I'm headed back momentarily). SB's own Sam Gilmer, plus Hillbilly Bryant, Larry Nevel, Jamie Farrel (The Red
Rifle from N.O.), Lil' John, Darryl Biggart, Lil' D, Mobile Will, Hennesy, Cliff Joyner, Ryan McReesh, Vita, Lil' Sal, Jamie Barrack, and to answer
your question, Doc, Luc is in the house as well.
I had to leave at 4 this morning to get some sleep, so I didn't get the winner of the 16 man, $500 entry fee, single elim tourney. I'll try and get you guys some updates later today, as my understanding is that there are big gaps between the first few matches. |

Shakes, it was nice to meet you this weekend. If your pool game is a good as your personality is, you're probably a great player.
I believe the 16 man mini for 5K-2K-1K went: Larry Nevel, Danny Smith, Pinnegar. Not positive about that. Doc P.S. This event is like so many other larger events: Even the people there, and the players too-- DON'T KNOW WHO'S WINNING! |

Doc, you are far too kind. I did have a blast while I was down there and it was a pleasure to meet you. I'm going to try and find out the winners in the
last couple of rounds and put up the brackets for the last 8 in both the winners and one loss side. I'm hoping to catch someone at breakers this afternoon
around 2 or 3 that can give me the info. I had to work Monday morning, and I stayed as late as I could (1:30 am). After a 3 and a half hour drive, I was beat.
I do know that the calcutta payouts were: 1st Calcutta: 1: 4400 2: 2300 3: 1500 4: 800 5: 450 7: 300 9-12: 150 2nd Calcutta: 1: 1785 2: 1075 3: 715 None too shabby for this stressful economic time. I'm hoping to be at the fall follies tournament, and have another great time watching great pool, and playing better than average pool. |

Shakes, you efforts at getting the results are appreciated. Bring a lap-top to the Fall Follies (weekend before Thanksgiving) and we'll make you the
official score reporter. . . . hey, I'm serious, I can use all the help I can get during the tournaments here. Thanks again.

Does anyone have a program to put a ladder board online? That would be a nice way to keep up with things. We have a fellow here that runs the tournament at
the VFW on Friday nite and he has a program that does that, plus it matches up shooters randomly and puts in any byes. He just types in names as folks sign up
and when it is time he will have it shuffle three times. Think he said he only paid 30 bucks for it. If I ever have a hall I'll dang sure use it. In
fact I might just go ahead and get it.

Pelican wrote:I'm actually working on a web based program similar to what you are talking about Pel. I'd like to be able to put in the names of the participants and have it randomly draw as you mentioned. Then you can either simply select the winner and/or put in the number of games won and have them advance in the bracket, winner and loser's side. Right now I'm just using office and having it publish to an image and put it up on the web. I still wasn't able to get anyone to verify the last couple of rounds of the tourney, but maybe tomorrow if they aren't too busy behind the counter. |

Shakes, ya gotta watch that Pelican, though. We were sitting chewing the fat over in Mobile, when I got a little hungry. I asked him if
he'd eat some nachos & cheese if I ordered some. He said that'd be alright. When they came, he insisted on paying. He said he wasn't going
to let me off the hook for that dinner I owe him from two years ago...
I'll tell you, he's sharp. Never forgets a damn thing!
